We will commence cataract surgery, corneal transplanation and DSAEK surgery as soon as we arrive.
There are 250, 000 people in nepal who are blind from cataracts. Part of our mission is to train the Nepalise opthamologists in advanced cataract surgical techniques and corneal transplantation and DSAEK surgery.
Our goal is to operate and provide vision to as many people as we can over a 2-3 week period.
The doctors at the LEI have requested we bring modern surgical instruments and equipment for our and their use. Dr. Peter Huang will be carrying out the surgery with Stephen, Paul and Katie Huang providing assistance with patient care.
