Asia 60 Society “Building Back Better” April-28
Nepal is being known as the country in disaster on the international level after there was destructive earthquake. Especially the Americans sent aid through the government and organizations in the time of emergency even after three months of earthquake. The amount was not properly used which is known in the country as well as abroad. Very few of the victims received the relief fund. Taking it in consideration, after a year of earthquake, an evaluation program was organized called Asia 60 Society Nepal Earthquake, One Year Later: “Building Back Better” on April 28, 2016. The assembly held in New York was led by Kul Chandra Gautam, the past United Nations deputy Secretary General. Mr. Mohan Krishna Shrestha, the chairman, had participated the program on behalf of this organization.

Focused also on addressing climate and disaster risks that threaten development, his team supports countries in building resilience through risk-informed and zero-carbon approaches to implement the Sustainable Development Goals SDGs).
Mr. Jo Scheuer highlighted his report and his experience and said that the amount handed over to the government was not properly used and he was anxious about the matter that it was misused. We have enclosed the copy of academic qualification herewith who briefed in the program along with them. A serious discussion was held about how to and through whom to spend the remaining 40 million dollar properly and bring it to the real victims. There were representatives of hundreds organizations which are well wisher of Nepal and high level media present there. it was suggested that the relief amount to be disbursed should not be done through the government.
In the occasion, a documentary about the pitiable condition of Nepal after the earthquake and the rights of children to life was presented. All the participants were struck by the documentary. The participants of different American organizations had taken it strange that how the people in the government could have misused the donation sent in the name of the victims.
There was a discussion about the help could be done through the Non-government organizations in Nepal. The foreigners want to hand over the donation by having direct interaction with the organizations in Nepal especially the organizations led by the females. It does not matter whether the organization is new or old but the one which can work receives the donation and proves itself by its work, that marches ahead.
